Optimal energy scheduling of a solar?based hybrid ship considering cold?ironing facilities

There are many restrictions on shipping, which reduce or prohibit the use of diesel generators for feeding energy demand electric ships, especially in ports. Therefore, shore power system (SPS) together with renewable energies and storage systems (ESSs) can lead to environmental benefits while ships berthing In this study, shipboard hybrid (HPS) is proposed, including generators, solar photovoltaic panels (PV), ESS cold-ironing (CI) facilities using SPS efficiently supply ship's electrical demand. With such HPS aboard, generated estimated accurately based navigation route. By optimal scheduling a real cruise ship, gets minimised, due utilisation PV ESS. addition, CI service instead switching auxiliary ports leads 3 h increase charging discharging times Furthermore, efficient results less even at sailing hours, reducing emissions minimising costs supplying The total cost reduction different case studies, without services only 1% 2%, about 6% 7% by adding HPS. Moreover, economic characteristics proposed diesel-PV-ESS-CI analysed profitability daily considering share installation target day proved.
